Book Review: Mission: Explore Food

I think it’s really important that children have a good relationship with food and the authors of this book feel the same which is why I connected with it straight away.  It’s not a children’s cook book. It’s not a book about how to grow food with your children.  It’s about helping them understand where food comes from and empathising with the people, places and animals that produce it.

mission explore food

The book was written collaboratively by a team of people at The Geography Collective who are teachers, artists, therapists and explorers. Their mission is to help children find out about the world in different ways and this book does just that.

It’s easy to read as a family and beautifully illustrated with fun and engaging instructions which help children playfully learn about their relationship with food and question how it got to their plate and where it goes afterwards.
